Visual Basic Developer/ Database Administrator

We have an opportunity for a dedicated individual who will be required to review and understand Client’s engineering business requirements and use cases to encode project requirements into Visual Basic for Access database. The ideal candidate will have the following level of experience.

  • The ability to build all technical data required to complete an asset register, maintenance strategy, maintenance programme and operations reporting for any CMMS
  • Managing and manipulating data as part of cleansing and enhancement work
  • Confirmation of program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes
  • An understanding of maintenance management systems
  • The ability to create an ETL from data in MS Excel for uploading into database
  • An understanding of how data gathered relates to the final data required for all client deliverables to build matrices to produce final data deliverables
  • Comprehensive understanding of all workflow methodologies required to complete all tasks associated with the project
  • An understanding of how the final deliverable will be presented to ensure that all client business process needs are met
  • Generating weekly progress reports for the relevant teams and senior management


  • Good working knowledge of SQL and relational database theory
  • General understanding of oil and gas industry
  • Must be able to plan and organise allocated tasks to meet project deadlines and budgets; attention to detail is a necessity
  • Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills; self-motivated and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently is essential
  • Expert standard for all Microsoft product software i.e. Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and other company/discipline specific software applications
