ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY (EOR)

International inter-disciplinary intervention

Oil Plus’s knowledge of EOR projects, can increase your chances of getting it right.

Process engineering design, performance review, production chemistry laboratory analysis and chemical evaluation studies for enhanced oil recovery projects

With increasing global demand for energy, companies are keen to establish effective secondary and enhanced oil recovery methods for existing and more challenging fields. Oil Plus assists operators in improving production by using alternative techniques such as chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR), alkali surfactants polymer (ASP), gas and steam injection, as opposed to, or in addition to, traditional waterflooding.

In order to reduce risk and increase recovery Oil Plus had developed a suite of on-site analyses and practices supported by appropriate laboratory evaluation. For chemical waterflood studies such as coreflooding either on-site or in a laboratory environment, are essential for determining injectivity specification, water-rock compatibility and the effect of chemical breakthrough, thus enabling a plan to be developed for a successful recovery process.

Typical projects Oil Plus can assist with include:

  • Base waterflood injection
  • Low salinity waterflooding
  • Polymer flooding
  • Surfactant flooding
  • ASP flooding
  • CO2 and N2 injection
  • Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR)
  • Effects of EOR chemicals on existing water injection systems
  • EOR chemical breakthrough effects and produced water treatment
  • CO2: EOR alone or linked with carbon capture storage (CCS)
  • Best available technology (BAT) and best environmental practices (BEP)
